A South Florida native and licensed attorney for over 20 years, Pamela Higer-Polani goes the extra mile for her clients.  Traveling to clients’ homes and businesses, her novel approach to meeting her clients’ needs and high level of expertise make her highly sought after in her field.  She specializes in digital asset protection and estate planning. She has received significant recognition for her numerous community works and from the Florida Bar Association and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. She has taken the lead in fund raising for the Alzheimer’s Association and sits on the boards of other non-profits.

We are grateful that she is the Honorary Chair of the Connected Warriors 7th Annual Star of Honor Gala.

Growing up in Flushing, NY, Ira Gelb always wanted to be a doctor and would carry his uncle’s medical bag on house calls as a young boy.  His hard work and dedication was evident as he graduated early from high school at 16 and the pre-med program at NYU at 19.  At 23, Dr. Gelb completed his doctorate at NYU knowing in his heart the true importance of being a doctor and building relationships with his patients.  In 1953 he joined the Army.  He served as a Regimental Surgeon for the 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division in Gelnhausen, Germany.  After the Army, Dr. Gelb finished his residency in Colorado before returning to New York as a part of the faculty and house staff at Mt. Sinai, where he is still on staff to this day.

Upon moving to Florida, Dr. Gelb founded the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at FAU in 2001 and then the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at FAU in 2009, where he is currently the Assistant Dean and Clinical Professor.  He gives back to the medical community, his fellow veterans and serves his community in countless ways.  He is widely loved by all who know him. Dr. Gelb has been blessed with a loving wife, June, 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
