On September 15, 2018 Connected Warriors hosted the finale of our Summer Sea to Shining Sea Campaign on board the USS Intrepid. Connected Warriors goal was to spread awareness and to expand our mission across the country to help veterans, service-members, and their families. We are happy to announce we have reached that goal with national media coverage. Our final STSS event on the Intrepid was filmed and aired by The Sunday Today Show with Willie Geist.
We would first like thank each and every one of you for your continued support throughout the years. Without all of you Connected Warriors would not be where we are today.
We’d like to thank Major General William C. Mercurio for being our presenting sponsor and making this event possible! Also, a big thank you to all of you who were able to join us and be a part of our big day! Your support does not go unnoticed and we will continue to carry it with us as we expand.
We can’t wait to see what is in store for Connected Warriors and hope you’re all as excited as we are!

Connected Warriors hosted our 2018 Boca Chamber of Commerce Festival Days event, “Red, White & Brew,” on August 28th. The event was free for all to attend but donations of K-cups and candy were accepted to send to our troops overseas.
The event consisted of games, food from J&J Fresh Kitchen, beer from Barrel of Monks, fresh juices from Swami juice and other light bites and beverages. Attendees were invited to participate in a yoga class led by our own local CW teacher, Commander Ken Bingham, and to participate in the different games we had set up. It was a great night for networking and introducing the community to who we are.
We were very pleased with the turn out for the event and truly appreciate the support of the community behind us. We were able to fill a giant box with coffee and candy for our troops and hope that when they receive their goodies it will “sweeten” their day.
You Farm hosted our 2018 Sea to Shining Sea fundraising event on August 11, 2018. The event was $30 per person. $10 went straight back to supporting Connected Warriors and our mission.
Connected Warriors, Downward Goat and You Farm came together to support our military communities in raising awareness to the needs of our:
From our inception, one of Connected Warriors’ primary focuses has been sharing yoga with Servicemembers, Veterans and Their Families. We are one of the very few organizations supplying free yoga that can help veterans and their families to heal from the traumas they experience through deployment.
The Yoga Readiness Initiative builds upon this work, and broadens our focus to reach active duty military service men, veterans and women and their families. Through the help of our corporate partners, GAIAM and the GIVE BACK YOGA FOUNDATION, and our service organizations and volunteers, this project shares free yoga field kits with military personnel who are serving at bases across the country and around the globe. This gift is extended in a spirit of gratitude for those who serve – offering tools that can help service men and women connect with strength, calm and inner peace when it’s time to be “at ease.” Below is a link to access these free or low-cost digital resources offer a guided exploration of the benefits of meditation and breath work (pranayama) to balance the nervous system and turn off the fight or flight response when it’s time to relax.
Each Yoga Readiness Kit contains: Yoga mat – which is home base – a place to return to for grounding, clarity and peace. Through the support of corporate sponsor GAIAM, each Yoga Readiness Kit contains a mat, block and strap to support a Servicemember in exploring a personal practice.
Practice guides offer valuable step-by-step instruction for asana and meditation, as well as the context of each practice and why it works. Yoga Readiness Kits include a Mindful Yoga Therapy practice guide and Yoga for Warriors book, along with our Connected Warriors resource guide.
Digital resources can be used at nearly any time, in any place. As part of each Yoga Readiness Kit, service members can access free downloads of breath work practices and guided meditations, while connecting with other service members who are exploring the gifts of yoga through Sounds True.
